Nurses' Week 2020

When you’re a nurse, you know that every day you will touch a life OR a life will touch yours.
.
The latter is true for me. every. single. day.
.
In my 9+ years of nursing, I’ve been an #ICU nurse, #NICU nurse, a children’s #HEMONC nurse, and a women’s health nurse practitioner.
.
I’ve witnessed life, death, and everything in between. I’ve been there during the most momentous moments that people go through in their lifetime, and if there is one thing I’ve learned it is, how to live.
.
How to live in the moment. How to live authentically. How to live with gratitude. How to live with dignity. How to live with hope... HOW TO LIVE.
.
Since learning this, my motto has always been, “There is no such thing as ‘a bad day!’”. There are definitely days that aren’t my favorite, but each day is a blessing and if we see it as that, no day can be “a bad day”.
.
Nursing friends, you all are the heart of health care. It’s never easy, but it is always worth it. I salute you all, always, but especially today.
.
Happy Nurses’ Week!
